1. What are the five types of water produced by the LeveLuk and the LeveLuk SD 501?
Kangen water, Acidic water, Clean water, Strong Kangen water and Strong Acidic water.
2. Is the LeveLuk a water cleaner?
It is not just a water cleaner. It is a Kangen water machine that produces five types of water, and additionally cleans water.
3. Is the LeveLuk an alkaline ionizer?
Yes, it is. But this company calls it Kangen Water.
4. Have there been any announcements or association publications in the U.S. on the medical effects of Kangen water?
Professor Fernandez of the University of Texas and Professor Shinya of Albert Einstein College of Medicine have both published reports.
5. Is the UL of Leveluk DX and Leveluk SD 501 approved in the U.S.?
Yes, it is approved.
6. Is the LeveLuk really guaranteed for fifteen years?
Yes, it is and the LeveLuk SD 501 offers a five year guarantee warranty.
7. Why did the U.S. International Earth Environment University give an award to Enagic?
This is because the Enagic water technology produces acidic water for cleaning which reduces the necessity for other detergent products. This acidic water is also highly beneficial and prevents water pollution.
By drinking Kangen water, the demand for plastic bottles, which are a major source of environmental pollution is reduced.
By using electrolyzed water both Kangen and acidic waters are produced. These waters benefit sanitation (as an antiseptic) and in health (with regards to common illnesses) thereby improving the environment.
By drinking Kangen water is practicing preventive medicine, hence contributing to the significant reduction of public medical costs.
8. How should I drink Kangen water?
We would recommend you to start drinking it at lower pH level of pH8.0 with a daily consumption of 1~2 glasses of it a day continued for about 2 weeks to get used to Kangen Water. Then, gradually increase the pH level.
Healthy people should drink two to three liters of Kangen water (divided into several cups) before meals. Anyone with a health problem should consult a doctor beforehand.
9. The LeveLuk seems extremely expensive. Is it different from other water cleaners?
In terms of the hardware, other companies offer clean water that will make three kinds of water (alkali, clean-water and acidic), while the LeveLuk additionally makes strong Kangen and strong acidic waters. LeveLuk also offers a strong service department and a three-year guarantee and the LeveLuk SD 501 offers a five year guarantee.
10. Is the LeveLuk electrolyzing tank different from competing models?
The LeveLuk uses five titanium anodized electrodes. The surface area of the electrodes is the largest in the industry.

11. Is it true that strong Kangen water will clean dirt
from a car and completely remove the oily film from
the windshield?
Yes, it is. Kangen water dissolves oil and grease.
12. Is strong acidic water effective in removing germs from kitchens, bathrooms and toilets?
It is. There is test data on this subject at Kitazato Environmental Studies Center.
13. It's been said that acidic water is an ideal weak acidic water treatment for skin.
There are many different types of skin so it is impossible to say that acidic water is ideal as a skin treatment. It has been shown to be an effective skin treatment in medical situations.
14. What is the correct way to use LeveLuk water when taking medicine?
When taking medicine, please use the Clean Water.
15. Does the units such as the Leveluk SD501 filter out flouride? The filter itself does not take out fluoride (as that is very difficult for any filter to do)
But through the process of electrolysis, due to the polarity of fluoride, the fluoride ends up in the acid water while the drinking water is free of it.
About Maintenance...
1. How often should the cartridge be changed?
The cartridge is good for 12,000 liters. Depending on the quality of the tap water which will last for six months to a year.
2. To what types of faucet can a LeveLuk be attached to?
The LeveLuk can be attached to most faucets. However, it cannot be attached to sensor activated faucets, square faucets, shower heads and some other faucets added by homeowners. An Enagic technician may be required in these situations. In such event, there is a charge for labor and materials.
3. What happens if the product requires repairs, or needs to be returned?
Call and explain the problem. Enagic will determine immediately what needs to be done and take care of the problem.
4. The tap water characteristics differ in parts of the U.S.
Is some kind of adjustment made for different kinds of water?
It is not so much the characteristics of water, but the issue is high mineral content (hard) water. Enagic has two special filters for such locations. Where free carbon is found in high concentrations, Enagic sells a free carbon-type model.
5. How many years can a LeveLuk be used?
The LeveLuk is built to last fifteen years. Depending on the quality of the water there will be some variation.
6. What happens when the minus electrical value does not show for ORP (Oxidation Reduction Power) ?
This could be due to the water. Call the service department and it will determine the best course of action.
7. What is the milky color in the water when producing Kangen water?
In most cases that is calcium.
8. I get tons of calcium deposits that end up at the bottom of my bottle. What should I do? The excessive calcium exists in the original water supply and is only made visible via the kangen process. So either way its in the same water supply, you are drinking the calcium anyway. Try the 2-stage pre-filter from Enagic for $98.00 if you don't want much calcium.
About Water and Your Health
1.Why isn't our body naturally alkaline?
We are all alkaline naturally, but our individual organs have different pH because they are components of a wholistic system called 'the body' which uses all organs and elimination systems to maintain a blood level of approximately pH 7.35 at all times.
2.What has 'natural alkalinity' got in common with 'cellulite'?
They are both products of advertising and have no real meaning. However the true 'natural alkalinity' of the human body is usually referring to the blood pH, which is optimally pH 7.35.
3.What is a free radical?
There is a particular substance in oxygen which is a powerful oxidizing agent and the major cause of rust. This agent is called active oxygen. Wrinkles in skin are the result of cells which have "rusted," and free radical is also the key player in cellular aging and illness.
4. What is active hydrogen?
Active hydrogen has the ability to immediately neutralize free radicals and render it non-poisonous. The power of oxygen to cause rust is called "oxidizing power." There is a theory that active hydrogen reverses oxidizing power, "returning" the oxygen to its original state.
5. What is "Kangen" water?
How is that alkalized water different from other water?
Kangen water is safe water that has been cleaned from chlorine and other chemical compounds, and which has had any oxidized compounds neutralized with active hydrogen. Alkaline ionized water is the water with ample hydrogenated ions with an alkaline ph. Kangen water has more hydrogenated ions than common alkalized water, and is therefore an especially effective anti-oxidant (active oxygen neutralizer.)
6. Has the U.S. medical community recognized the efficacy of active hydrogen?
Professor Fernandez at the University of Texas has published a report on this subject.
7. Is the Kangen water made in Japan effective in the U.S?
Yes, it is effective.
8. What is the problem with bottled water?
One of the problems with bottled water is the impact of plastic bottles on the environment. As far as water quality is concerned, the water loses pH and ORP as time goes by.
9. Is Kangen water OK for pets?
Yes, it's very good for pets, too!
10. Is it true that Kangen water is good for abnormal fermentation of the stomach and intestines, deodorizing of bowel movements, protecting against cancer, dieting, obesity and lowering blood sugar levels?
Legally, we cannot make claims of this sort. However, one can refer to specific cases and testimonials found in a number of books and publications.
11. Can you cite any clinical tests under Japan's Water Therapy Law?

12. What is a pH Saliva Test?
In a healthy state, our saliva should be alkaline. However, a large majority of North Americans and Europeans are in an acid condition, and this can easily be demonstrated. In this simple test, special pH papers are used to measure the acidity /alkalinity of saliva under carefully controlled conditions. This can give you a relative, general picture.
About Ionized Electrolysis Water
1. How does a Water Ionizer work?
Connecting directly to your faucet, a water ionizer uses a two step process. The first task is to filter out harmful components of the water: chlorine, trihalomethanes, phenols, sediment, odor, taste, organic waste, and bacteria of all kinds.
Enagic Ionizers achieve this by the use of a multistage activated carbon filter containing antibacterial granular activated carbon and Calcium Sulfite. Next, a small electrical charge is introduced into the water through platinum-coated titanium electrodes. The process of electrolysis that follows takes place in a chamber designed to separate the water into two streams of ionized water.
A range of pH settings from neutral to very alkaline or very acid is available at the touch of a button. The electrodes are cleaned in an automatic cleaning cycle.
2. What are the various levels of alkalinity and acidity (pH) for?
Enagic water Ionizers provide, at the push of a button, water that varies from mildly alkaline to highly alkaline. This enables you to accustom yourself gradually to higher levels of alkaline drinking water (e.g. pH 8.0 to pH9.5 ). You should start slowly with one glass of ionized water at the lowest alkaline setting and work your way up over several weeks to higher levels and amounts.
If you experience any discomfort from detoxification, just move back to the previous level or smaller quantities. It also allows different members of the family to dial up their preferred level.
The highest levels of alkalinity are for cooking.
In addition there is a button for water that is “clean" water, which is filtered but not ionized. Its pH level will be close to the level of your regular tap water. This water is for those taking medications which should not be combined with alkaline water.
Remember: the pH level of ionized water will vary with the pH of your source, i.e. your tap water. In addition, if you wish to make the water more alkaline or more acid, simply slow down the flow of water, and the pH level will change by approximately a value of 1.

3. What type of water can I use to produce ionized water?
Regular tap water is best. Distilled water or water filtered by reverse osmosis does not have any minerals, therefore it cannot be ionized.
4. What if I have well water?
Water ionizers can also be used with most well water. The two most common problems found in well water are hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg, sulfur smell) and high iron content. Both of these conditions can be remedied with the proper pre-filter. The mineral content of your source water directly effects the strength of ionized water you can produce. The more minerals, the stronger the ionization: higher alkalinity and higher antioxidant potential.
5. Can I store the water? For how long?
Yes, alkaline ionized water is best kept in an airtight glass or
plastic container. Black Plastic containers have proven to be the best...these are available from Enagic. It can be refrigerated or
kept in a cool place. Avoid storage in metal, especially aluminum containers. The alkaline properties will be retained for 1-2 weeks, but they are strongest when fresh (immediately out of the machine is best but certainly within the first 3 days).
The antioxidant properties start to diminish after 18-24 hours.
So for the best benefits, drink it within a day or so. Here are some typical results for refrigerated ionized water, stored in a sealed glass container:

6. Is it ok for children to drink ionized water?
Absolutely. Even nursing infants. And since children have usually not accumulated toxins in their bodies, they experience no detoxification symptoms. (a few adults might).
7. What are some of the harmful organisms and chemicals removed by the Enagic Ionizer filters?
Chlorine, trihalomethanes, suspended solids, cryptosporidium, parasite (cysts), waterborne flu virus, organic compounds, heavy metals, e-coli and other bacteria. . In addition, the ionization process that follows filtration reduces the amount of acid minerals (such as sulfates) in the alkaline water. It also has the effect of reducing fluoride concentration.
8. What advantages does ionized water have over reverse osmosis or distillation?
Unlike Reverse Osmosis (RO) and distillation, which remove all minerals –leaving the water dead – ionized water concentrates health-giving alkaline minerals like magnesium and calcium, after removing all harmful contaminants. Water from RO and distillation is very acid (pH 4.5-5.7) and so contributes to the over-acidity of our bodies. Alkaline water helps counteract acid / alkaline imbalance. Because RO and Distilled waters are mineral deficient and strongly acid, there are warnings from a number of physicians not to drink them on a sustained basis.
While RO and distilled waters are strongly oxidizing, alkaline ionized water is a proven powerful antioxidant, equivalent to fresh squeezed orange juice.
Having been completely demineralized, RO and distilled water are – understandably -- flat tasting. The tastiness of water from Enagic Ionizers is one of its most immediate qualities: it brings delighted responses from everyone! Along with this go superior hydrating qualities.
Finally, let’s compare the ongoing costs: In-home RO water is approximately 20% more expensive than ionized water. In-home distillation is 700 – 1000% more expensive than ionized water.
9. Are there any cautions about drinking alkaline ionized water?
You should start slowly. Set the controls to the lowest level and drink one to three glasses per day.
Assuming the water agrees with you, increase the amount you drink and the level of ionization intensity. High levels of alkalinity -- up to 9.5 -- are best for drinking water; the highest levels can be used for cooking.
In a few individuals, the detoxification effects from drinking alkaline ionized water can cause headaches and diarrhea for a short time.
And for some older people, ionized water can tend, at first, to open the bowels. This is why a slow start is advised.
Use the “Clean Water” setting for taking any medications that your doctor advises not to be taken with alkaline water. Do not drink the acid water.
Having said all of the above, be aware that millions of Japanese have been drinking alkaline ionized water daily over the last 30 years. The water ionizer has been approved as a Household Medical Instrument
by the government of Japan. In addition, test results on safety by the Welfare Ministry in Japan reveal no harmful influences on the body.
10. What is "acidosis?"
Every living cell within our body creates waste products. The nutrients from our food are delivered to each cell and they burn with oxygen to provide energy for us to live. The burned nutrients are the waste products. Whether you eat the best of foods or the worst, all foods generate waste products.
Foods, when classified as good or bad, are based on the amount and quality of the waste products they produce. Most of our cells go through metabolism and these old dead cells become waste products.
Our body will discharge this waste through urine and perspiration. Basically, all waste products are acidic, that is the reason our skin and urine has a low pH level. The real problem is that our body does not get rid of 100% of the waste it produces. Our life style, such as lack of rest, types of foods we eat and our environment helps produce these waste products, but does not help us eliminate them. In the vast majority of Westerners, diets heavy in meat, fried foods, soft drinks, and sweets build up acid salts in the body, as does stress and exposure to environmental pollutants.
What happens to those non-disposed acid wastes? As they build up within our body, these waste products become solid wastes, such as cholesterol, fatty acid, kidney stones, etc. This accumulation of non-disposed acidic wastes is called acidosis. This condition accelerates the degeneration of cells, tissues, and the body as a whole. It accelerates the aging process.
Drinking alkaline water makes it easier for the body to dispose of acid wastes. Just as the accumulation of wastes accelerates the aging process, the reduction of acid wastes retards the aging process….
perhaps – according to Sang Whang -- even reversing it.
Alkaline water is not a medicine to treat or cure any diseases but if consumed regularly, alkaline water reduces acid waste, allowing a natural health improvement.
11. Why should I remove chlorine from my drinking and bathing water?
Dr. Zoltan Rona, M.D. M.Sc. answers:
"Most people never give (the dangers of chlorine) a thought. After all, our elected public officials keep assuring us that chlorinated city tap water is completely safe for human consumption. Numerous scientific studies report that chlorinated tap water is a skin irritant and can be associated with rashes like eczema.
"Chlorinated water contains chemical compounds called trihalomethanes which are carcinogens resulting from the combination of chlorine with compounds in water. These chemicals, also known as organochlorides, do not degrade very well and are generally stored in the fatty tissues of the body (breast, other fatty areas, mother's milk, blood and semen). Organochlorides can cause mutations by altering DNA, suppress immune system function and interfere with the natural controls of cell growth.
"Chlorine has been documented to aggravate asthma…Several studies also link chlorine and chlorinated by-products to a greater incidence of bladder, breast and bowel cancer as well as malignant melanoma. One study even links the use of chlorinated tap water to congenital cardiac anomalies.
Anything you can do to filter tap and shower water that eliminates or minimizes chlorine would certainly be helpful and possibly curative for some immune system problems. The use of “at source” water filtration devices is increasingly popular and affordable. Discuss their use with your health care practitioner".
